(November 2013) This week, the Nukuoro translation project reached a small milestone: exactly half of the Bible has been checked by consultant Paulus Kieviet.
Betty Amon translated all of the Old Testament. She also revised the New Testament, which was published over 25 years ago. Together with the translation team she is reviewing the translation once more, before submitting it for the consultant check.
Paulus has been working with Betty since 2011, mostly by distance: Betty lives on Guam and spends part of the year in Pohnpei, while Paulus lives in the Netherlands. By now, most of the New Testament and the first part of the Old Testament (up to the books of Samuel) have been checked. The plan is to finish this process some time next year.
