A good translation – is it possible?

(May 2015) In large languages such as English, Spanish and Dutch, there are many good translations of the Bible. These translations take many years to complete, involve a large team (often over a hundred people) and cost millions of dollars or euros.
In small languages, resources are much more limited. Still, should the Kapingamarangi, or the Woleai, make do with a mediocre translation? Or is it possible to produce a good quality translation with less resources?
Nico Daams discusses this issue in the article “Quality Bible translations in minority languages”, which was just posted on the Isles of the Sea website.
